Les Newman’s is a great store in Bend, Oregon that carries authentic, outdoor gear from PNW clothiers. This place is really cool, and the owner Greg seems like a real nice guy. For sure a cool local business, just east of downtown Bend, across from Les Schwab. I tried convncing him he needed a new website, but he’s got better things to do. lol. Genuine, for sure. Check it out if you get a chance. :^)
I picked up a kick ass Ben Davis Jacket, nice. But more importantly, there’s a killer wood carving inside! As you walk in, make sure to check out the gnome meets santa, meets dwarf, meets shoe cobbler – the detail is amazing and the craftsmanship is incredible. Made locally for Greg.
WinterFest is here! Just dropped off my T Shirts for the event. Cool Yeti Illustration concept comes alive w/ the help of Chuck Moser. Pick one up at The WinterFest site or come on down the The Bend WinterFest this weekend and grab one at the info booth.
That’s as far as I got in the past 3+ months or so when attempting to post to this blog. Between, my new affliction with my iPhone’s camera, twitter, flickr, posterous, tumblr, facebook, oh and designing, developing and having a life. Time has let this one slip.
I look forward to continue posting here – wrongdude.com same name, new server (self hosted). Onward.
2009 was good. Met new peeps, started new projects and had a blast with the familia for sure, look forward to more adventures in the coming year.
Incredible Winemaker’s dinner last night at the Jackalope Grill with Mark Vlossak from St. Innocent Vineyards. Our favorite was the duck, followed by the prawns. The venison, and mussels were just as tasty. The wines were paired very well and both the 94 & 98 Pinot Noir were a great finish to the four hour evening. A great time with Tim and Kathy once again.
The vast amount of creativity out there never seizes to amaze me. :^) Check out through-you.com.
There is just sooo much out there that is pretty much all public domain – it’s getting interesting for sure.
The big news in Bend today (according to The Bulletin) was about a wallaby who had gone missing and was found after a five day Juniper Berry Bender (or maybe he was caught up at the west side Rigoberto’s hop thru). Mind you this is no ordinary wallaby – it’s a west-side wallaby – which are apparently cuter and more news worthy (it made the front page lead story).
Never mind the story about our public transportation system losing its funding – I mean is that really more important that a cute fuzzy naughty little wallaby? Bad wallaby, trying to escape your west-side domicile of non-clothesline hangers! So cute – you just want to squeeeeeeze, hug, and watch him hop – you can’t get mad at the wallaby. Granted the story would have been better if it happened in Washington – I see the headline now: “Wandering wallaby wescuded in Walla Walla”. Oh Bulletin – how you make me smile.
Just wrapped up a project for our local Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization. A worthy cause for sure. Dad took the kids bowling over at Sun Mountain Fun Center a couple of weeks ago – which was a great opportunity to set up an impromptu photo shoot. The event is “Bowl for Kid’s Sake” so a photo of kids in a bowling alley was one of my first thoughts – and from there came the idea for the poster. The final image I chose was of Max standing next to a pair of empty adult shoes. I suppose a number of headlines could have been used for that image but my thoughts went to “Bowling is more fun with a big brother or big sister”. I can’t remember ever going bowling by myself.
It’s been a while since my last post – yikes. Been really busy and will be posting more stuff for sure.
